I'm still trying to understand the 560 ti 448.....It performs like a 570 and is about the same price.

Is it intended to kill off the 570? Or is it simply a niche card?

It is a niche card on a limited run - brilliant idea to get rid of defective GPUs and to also put pressure on AMD

Didn't know there was a review. And I guess the 6930, if it comes out, will put pressure on Nvidia's mid section. I wonder if the 6930 will be niche too.

Yes, i was surprised by the new 448 core card. No, AMD is not putting pressure anywhere with the 6930 - they are *reacting* to Nvidia's clever move. And it will be niche also.

I just enjoy reading about cards. I'm more than satisfied with the 6950.

I assume the 6930 was in the planning stage for a while, same as the 448. Don't know.

I just don't know why Nvidia would place a card so close to the 570. Wouldn't it have the potential to hurt 570 sales? I've seen, in some tests, it actually beating the 570.

Scratch that. It seems these cards are simply "gimped" (as someone bluntly put it) versions of other cards. The 448 is pretty much a slightly slower 570. And the 6930 is a neutered 6950 1gb.

BTW, why do the forums suddenly poop out sometimes?

Why would I buy a 570 if I can get this? Sure its faster than the 6950, but that's likely going to drop in price regardless. Its pretty much as fast as a 570.

And I don't mean gimped in a bad-way. It's a 570 with marginally tuned down performance. But just as fast.
