The leaked slides appear to be real and the date is right. --ABT is not getting one for the launch. Quote: Why couldn't they just do 48 ROPs which would make sense, rather than stick to the same number as that of mid-range Barts GPUs? i think i know why

Why do you think? Share with us please!

AMD's PR got gutted. They are all working for another agency. i have only one or two high level contacts there left. i think ABT got left out - and it could be an oversight. i will make an appeal and try to find out more this weekend and Monday morning. Either ABT is a media partner with AMD or it is not. But i am in the know about *everything* 7000 - including what you will not see published by Anand.

That's too bad. I hope you are able to get one, apoppin. It looks like it's going to be a major product launch.

Because they do not intend it to be such a monster GPU? Perhaps they're repeating the Barts-Cayman "one-two" punch with the 7xxx series, because they know that NV will be doing this with Kepler? Tell me please, man!!!

That there is a lot to be said about it. Bo may have the right idea On Monday, i will find out if ABT is still a media partner with AMD Graphics - or not. If so, i expect to be briefed on the HD 7000 launch - at the very least. If not, then we are not under NDA with them on this launch and you will see a full article up on Monday detailing all the juicy speculation about this GPU and exactly what we can expect performance-wise - now and down the road.

It will all be for naught if Nvidia's second tier chip can entire match (perhaps even surpass Tahiti) and be for sale by March. The rumor mill is stating that GK104 will be 768 shaders and about the same size die as GF114. That sounded high at first to me, but then I realized GF104/114 was 384 shaders and a smaller chip than the Nvidia's previous flagship, the 240 shader GT200. That means Nvidia's flagship chip and the 3 different boards it will power will ALL be more poweful than Tahiti. Nvidia could end up having the 4 fastest single GPU graphics cards on the market later this year (gtx680, gtx780, gtx765 for GK100 and gtx760 for GK104). This is all still just speculation, and it also still completely depends on when Nvidia can get to market, but I don't think they will be 6 months behind this time, and I don't think their GPU's are going to be plagued with the problems that Fermi initially had. EDIT: The only way AMD can keep up the small die flagship strategy is IF they can continually beat Nvidia to the punch with each node change, and they can release two flagship chips per node (hd5870 and hd6870). AMD would still trail for the overall performance crown once Nvidia gets their high end parts out on a new node, but they would at least be able to stay nimble with constant product refreshes and new chips.

Let me say one thing for sure: >>>ALL of the upcoming GTX 600 rumors are BS speculation Unlike with Tahiti ... and wasn't Q1 stated as a release time for the new GTX It won't be next month .. my prediction was wrong .. ....but not so far off
