That site has a huge problem of being infiltrated by paid shills.

They would not be tolerated here at all.

What my research has revealed is that ONE person can masquerade as literally hundreds of people. They can use the anonymity of the Internet to wage complete campaigns. They have ISP blockers that can only reveal their true ISP with a court order.

i can tell there is at least one person posting there with impunity even though they were banned long ago. That poster probably has dozens of accounts which can be reactivated at will. Probably here too.

i guess the moral of the story is that there is deceit and subterfuge everywhere. An agenda for some.
-- One cannot "trust" advice without researching multiple sources (and making sure those sources are independent of each other).

What gives away a poster suspected of shilling is their pattern. It is slightly different than the extreme fanboy and it is even more deceitful, driven by a psychology of marketing. They reflect the PR of the organization of which they are indoctrinated including exaggerating spin and ridicule as tools.
-- Consistency over time is what marks a source or poster as either trusted or untrustworthy.

Just delete all accounts with less than 5 posts than have gone more than 2 months without posting anything. That should put a dent in their armory of accounts.

This is what happens

Cool Return of AMD FX: My OC'd AMD FX 8150 review with OC'd 6990 - Daily Results!!
http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2225753
(ROFLMAO)

That same thread was posted on a dozen tech sites; it already got locked once but evidently they like this kind of viral advertising. It brings hits and controversy; not credibility.

They are just now starting to figure it out
Quote:
So he did the same thing as me, pointing out your skewed results, but he is derailing ? I guess you didn't accuse me, since I am a mod. I welcome people backing up my opinion with facts, since I don't have the time for all that posting (since I am too busy modding) , I just know your results are skewed, and now someone helps me prove it.

And yes, this all smells of marketing, when you start a thread with a logo ? And yes, you don't just compare 3.6 ghz to 4.8 or Nehalem to bulldozer, if there is no fairness, its crap skewed results, and does not belong here.

i can get 4.6GHz on water stable; 4.8GHz would require more than 1.5V and better cooling for OCCT. He is comparing his FX-8150 at 4.8GHz with a HD 6990 to stock Intel CPUs and complaining when anyone questions his results as a "derail"

Pure AMD marketing; and we see posters thank him for his 'efforts' (to obviously drive traffic to his flog on that forum and from at least a dozen other identical threads on other tech forums). And after an ATF mod discussion they allowed this garbage the second time after the first one got locked with infractions even threatened by Idontcare if posters disrupted the obvious marketing by pointing it out.

After trying to troubleshoot my friend's new Bulldozer rig with Corsair H80 water cooling, and testing it with OCCT, the temps kept on climbing to 78C and higher before I had to stop the testing. The case was well-ventilated in a normal ambient temp. It was oc'ed to a paltry 4.0GHz (from 3.6GHz), with only 0.05v over default CPU voltage. UGH.. it was only OCCT, not even LinX. Some games worked fine (Batman AC with 3D Vision, etc..), but some other games kept on BSOD'ing the system.

Usually, 4.4-4.6 GHz is the average max. for Bulldozers, and it seems that Apoppin got a pretty good chip, IMO..

By far the best investment right now is a 2500K (overclockable to close to 5GHz) for pretty cheap, and then upgrade to a 2600K later on when 8 HT cores actually become more useful (or just wait for Haswell). Ivy Bridge does not even seem to be any more than 5% faster than SB-E overall, clock-for-clock.. anybody got reliable comparisons for IB vs SB-E yet? LGA2011 motherboards are about $100 more expensive, so it's not worth the efficiency that comes with the 22nm shrink, unless it can overclock by more than 10% higher than SB (5.3+ GHz). Let's see, I guess..

Yes directly from AMD. They test them first before they send them to reviewers. They were probably disappointed that i only got 4.4GHz at first (with "only" 775W; i did not realize the extreme power draw when overclocked and destroyed my 2nd AM3+ ASUS flagship board)

Maybe that's why they don't like me any more
:D
