What benefits? AMD is delaying the inevitable unless they have a DeusEx Machina in a Super-Super Overclocked HD 7970 or an announcement of HD 7980.
Do you think they are selling HD 7970s in any volume since the GTX 680 released? ALL of the tech sites agreed that the 7970 was suddenly overpriced and that the GTX 680 beat it in every metric
Who wants to pay top dollar for No. 2? (no one but the most desperate or true fans)

People who want a high end card *now* but can't get a GTX 680 are probably getting 7970s right now if they're desperate enough.

I don't understand one thing,if u can't stand higher noise levels why u plan to oc it at all?More power more heat more noise its that simple. Also every review points that 680 is a quieter card.

http://blogs.nvidia.com/2012/04/the-imp ... fficiency/Quote: We’re extremely proud of what we accomplished with Kepler. It combines NVIDIA’s world-class GPU engineering with TSMC’s very best 28nm process. But while Kepler was a key milestone, it is one point in a continuum. We continue to improve on what we developed and continue our collaboration with TSMC. In fact, we recently received our first version of an enhanced PQV for 20nm from TSMC. That process will yield even greater efficiency for NVIDIA’s next next-generation GPUs.
