Here are my options:
$150 - GTX 560 $150 - 6870 $230 - GTX 560 Ti 448 "reference" cards (Zotac, Evga) $255 - Asus Direct CU II GTX 560 Ti 448
I like the Asus because it would match my motherboard and it looks like it overclocks better at lower temps. The 3-slot cooler doesn't bother me; I don't need any of my other PCI-E ports. It is more than I would like to spend, though.
What should I get?
There will be some new sales posted tomorrow but I need a card soon as my GTX 460 is near death.

What are your future plans re: Hardware? Done upgrading the display to 1920x1080?
How are you situated as to budget? It looks like you prefer the ASUS card. Will you SLI again if you find another cheap GTX 560 Ti 448c? The other 560Ti 448c's may overclock just as high as the ASUS.
Do you want a solid upgrade over your current card? Or a mild side-upgrade?

I would SLI again but it would really require a new motherboard as I only have x16/x4. I don't think the Asus Direct CU II card could SLI because it's so big.
My budget is $200 max, but because my card is dead and I need something now I might stretch it a bit. Also if a card is a hot enough deal I would go a bit over budget.

Well it kinda looks like a non-ASUS GTX 560 Ti 448c is the card.
Try to find a sale closer to the $200 price. Look for open box or rebates. -- what are 6950s going for? That might be a nice card and a lot stronger than the GTX 560 or the HD 6870

How can your GTX 460 be dying this early on in its life-cycle?! Have you abused it?

i think he used a different BIOS and OC'd the heck out of it. Unless i am mistaken, he got a pretty high overclock on it. Or it could have been the Miso soup, perhaps? Are you planning to RMA it? They won't accept it with a different BIOS even if they allow it to be OC'd

How's $215 for an XFX 6950 2gb?
I did not abuse my GTX 460.
I briefly ran it at 950mhz on the core, but I generally ran it at 850mhz. I haven't used it much TBH.
Please do not derail my thread. I need a new card.

Did you change the BIOS? If so you will need to change it back before a RMA. And i think $215 is a decent price; didn't a member pay that same price not very long ago. However, it is $15 less than a 448 Core GTX 560 Ti. Do you think the performance difference is worth $15 to you? AND is it a 1GB or 2GB HD 6950?

Look at the performance of the HD 6950 and GTX 560 Ti and GTX 560 Ti 448 core compared; this will give you an idea of performance versus costs. The 560 Ti hangs with the HD 6950 and the 560 Ti 448 core is solidly faster; the FTW competes with the HD 6970. What about the GTX 560 Ti? How much does it cost now?

A new sale comes out at NCIX tomorrow night so I'm gonna take my chances and wait another day unless you think I should jump on this deal. I can flash the bios back no problem. I'm not worried about RMAing it or not; the card isn't worth much now anyways.
