So I have this hard drive which has reached the infamous state of you can hear it clicking when it powers up, I have heard worst clicking before this one doesn't sound as aggressive I have heard of instances when drives are not seen by Windows but are seen by Windows Management and information have been recovered or when it is not seen by Windows or Disk Management but it is picked up in the bios and information is recovered. So since I cannot even see this hard drive in bios is there any hope of salvaging any information of it?

Only hope is to take the platters out and place into working base.

Because I thought if the internal regions hard drive was exposed to outer environment it would destroy the drive?

There is hope Stick the HDD in the freezer for 15 minutes then immediately into your PC - get all the data you can .. then repeat the procedure It *may* work... It has saved me and my friends' data more than once It is known .. look at this google search https://www.google.com/search?client=gm ... er%20trick

Because I thought if the internal regions hard drive was exposed to outer environment it would destroy the drive? That's why it's temporary. They get the data offloaded and the platters oxidize and garbage. I always buy a second drive for such purposes. The only time I couldn't do it was when Fujitsu screwed up and made a DSP chip that randomized the boot loader (Bit 0) They caught hell for that design flaw and settled a massive class action law suit. My website post was actually used in the litigation. Pretty cool. Fujitsu Hard Drive Test Utility and Lawsuit Settlement details

It *may* work... It has saved me and my friends more than once This works if it's a bearing or motor issue. If head mechanism broke it won't. Couldn't hurt to try it

It costs nothing to try
And do not stick it in a bag or water may condense - just place it in the freezer
then be prepared to copy as much data as you can

Just freezing it? No. No physical damage that i am aware of. It won't deteriorate anything further if that is what you mean. You aren't dropping it into LN2 .. just in the freezer for a few minutes.
However, if the data is so sensitive that your company's life depends on it, spend the money and have the data professionally recovered. And never get in this position again. It's a cheap lesson if you get your data back.

The head mechanism is a voice coil. These are usually highly reliable unless the drive is shocked or kept in hot conditions (people not ensuring a drive is kept cool is the main reason for mechanical failure after user induced shock abuse).
Try replacing the drives PCB. It is way more likely that the circuits that control the voice coils have failed than the voice coils themselves.
