Sure it is. Repeat the same experiment with 4GB of system memory and watch Windows compensate for it; the frame rates don't change

Windows will be swapping to the HDD like a madman with my settings and 4 gb.

If u don't have enough system ram windows will access the paging file continuously making the frame rates dip.Greg can u do this experiment please?We posted at the same time

Maybe later on. I don't really feel like pulling memory in and out at the moment. I'm just enjoying a quiet evening playing on of my favorite games and occasionally taking a peek at the 'net.

When you have time. That is the real test, not what task manager is reporting. Quote: If u don't have enough system ram windows will access the paging file continuously making the frame rates dip THG already tested this and found 4GB was sufficient; Windows know how to manage memory

How far in? It's decent enough, but the story never grabs you like a Gothic does. You keep waiting for it to get interesting, and it never does.
