i am SO P.O.'d. i was up until about midnight and the article was nearly done as i was putting the finishing touches on it when IE crashed and Word Press lost 4 HOURS of saves.

Never again IE. i wish i could uninstall it. i was up ALL night repairing the article and it still isn't perfect.

Depending on pricing, I may well end up with two of these.

It is a game changer. It brought some value finally to 28nm
:hello:

AMD's reference HD 7970's price needs to come down by $80. And they need better drivers to recommend it to people who play at 5760x1080 or for CrossFire. And their power draw is too high. They are beaten on every metric. Charlie got that part right even though he had no clue what he wrote.

AMD sure didn't seen the GK114 coming, did they? And they got caught looking a bit too much like a predator on their own fans - taking advantage of a (hopefully to them) "late" situation of their competitor. Now it is much more expensive to fix the situation than to have planned for it. Sense and vision would have dictated that if they were going to go that route, to buy an "insurance" policy with a respin concurrent with their HD 7970 release.

I still feel conned, I still think I should be getting the full blown GK104 and for less money too (here 7950's go for between $480 - $500), but I guess this is as good as we will get without being screwed over on performance. nvidia had damn well better put some more effort into making its Maxwell top end GPU more manufacturable.

Very nice review!

Looks like I'm going to get a nice boost going from my 470 to the 670

Looks like IB + 670 vs i7-920 @ 4.2GHz + 7970 :)

Also seems to have gained fps in BM with PhysX :D

SLI

The GTX 670 is set up for SLI by using two GTX 570s.

hehe, let's all give him a hard time for not saving on the fly! :D

That makes the comparison impossible isn't it?

If that's what happened, then yeah, it would be unfair to compare them.
