Real cool movie - "Shame" with Michael Fassbender in it. It's a well-made movie, IMHO. Pretty entertaining also, to many.. and also rather original. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shame_%282011_film%29 (I like IMDB, but when do the critics ever rate any movie higher than 8 out of 10? He'd probably be the first actor to ever win an Oscar for an NC-17 rated movie (another denomination for X-rated, not XXX)!

Didn't Brando already get nominated as Best Actor for Last Tango in Paris? It was originally rated X but later changed to NC-17 Yes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Tango_in_ParisAnd Midnight Cowboy was originally rated X, now R .. got an academy award for best picture; A Clockwork Orange was rated X (i saw it in London at it release) and it was nominated for a best picture award

We watched Last Tango in Paris the other night - my wife was surprised that there was another Marlon Brando film, since she thought she already watched all of them. Thx for sharing! Not bad - funny, and hard to believe that it was 40 years ago now.
Midnight Cowboy did have pretty good picture - especially for movies made during the 60's, but I couldn't stand the dumb-ness of the main actor!!!
I saw A Clockwork Orange a while ago - it felt a bit too freak-ish for my tastes!! Kinda weird..
Well, I still like "Shame" better than the rest of those X / NC-17 rated movies.. I just LOL'ed a lot at the perverse-ness of it! It also cracked my wife up!!
Oh yeah, also saw the movie "Grey". Not bad, for a horror wolf movie in a beautiful snowy mountain scene!
Any other cool movies, guys?

Any other cool movies, guys? Do you mean "the Gray" with Liam Nielsen? American Werewolf in London was fun. James Spader played in Crash - a disturbing film that i couldn't stop watching i read Burgess's book before i saw Clockwork Orange in London in '71 --i was just out of high school

LOL @ Jaydip - yeah, we were movie buffs for like a decade.. now we're a lot more picky about movies as the new ones are really losing the "originality" appeal to me, feeling like literal re-runs! Yep, saw the Pianist - very good! Yeah, the Gray with Liam Neeson. Crash was pretty good!! My favorite movie of all time is .... Total Recall! (the original one with Arnold Schwarzenegger) (a few lines from Total Recall script: Get your ass to Mars [squrtrz] Get your ass to Mars [squrtrz] Get your ass to Mars ... at around 3:45, I think And #2 favorite movie of all time: Caveman!!!!!!!!!!!! What are your absolute favorites??

Cool! The 1st Matrix was one of my top 5 (maybe 3rd favorite of all)! I also love the Alien trilogy (only the first 3).. LotR and Star Wars. I can't really remember Shawshank and Shutter Island right off the top of my head - gotta watch the trailers!
There's another cool movie released on DVD/Blu-ray - ' Coriolanus ' - it's like a Shakespearean script, but in modern Rome settings - an original twist! Pretty good dialogue/script, that's fast and rather challenging.
