Well, i am writing the evaluation now i don't see ANY way to make two articles out of this without taking an extra 3 or 4 days just to break it up into two articles .. here is a tentative title of the upcoming evaluation "Core i7-920 vs i7-3770 at 4.2GHz featuring ECS Golden Series Motherboard"i am setting up watercooling tonight (for the pictures of the ECS MB and Tt case evaluations) and then the EVGA Z77 FTW MB

This looks interesting - testing compute http://blog.accelereyes.com/blog/2012/0 ... r-gtx-680/ Is anyone familiar with these benches and how to run them? They might be interesting to add as a side-project, later on perhaps. i am writing the IPC/ECS MB evaluation right now ... when i get "stuck", i am taking photos of the ECS MB with watercooling and setting up the EVGA MB ...

OK .. thanks .. and ... ... and ... and then what? This is a CUDA tool kit. i guess i could run the bandwidth test as a benchmark. However, what about Radeons? --if i am going to compare compute across AMD and Nvidia, i would need OpenCL, right?

So you are saying to first set up the CUDA environment on my PC, then we can work with OpenCL?

No we can do both at the same time without any issue.I advise to set up cuda first as it can be a bit tricky sometime.

Thanks. i am going to finish writing my ECS MB evaluation first. It is getting taken down right now anyway, and i am setting up the EVGA FTW Z77 MB. With luck, it will be ready to bench at the weekend. (with a LOT of luck; i am still taking pictures of the HW - lots of distractions right now)
