Nvidia Shows Off Near Eye Light Field VR Headset - BoFox - 01-27-2016 Quote:The Virtual Reality Los Angeles Expo (2016) aka VRLA, happened over the weekend and Nvidia was one of the companies that demoed its technology. Specifically, the NE LFD (Near Eye Light Field) HMD (Head Mounted Display) headset. Hopefully it is really worthwhile sooner rather than later (despite such low resolution for now). RE: Nvidia Shows Off Near Eye Light Field VR Headset - RolloTheGreat - 01-27-2016 This will never take off. Everyone knows those postage stamp size lenses are too small to fill a person's field of vision. NVIDIA should hang it up and admit that an AMD APU putting out 1080p on a WallyWorld tv is the ultimate in virtual reality. RE: Nvidia Shows Off Near Eye Light Field VR Headset - BoFox - 01-27-2016 Yeah, if the screen is going to be a few inches away from the head like in the diagram above, it's just gonna be too heavy for the head, period. The center of gravity will be leaning the head forward - and unless people like putting a tripod under it like with Nintendo's Virtual Boy, it like you said, will never take off. |
