Windows Phone Holding Steady - SteelCrysis - 03-07-2016 http://news.softpedia.com/news/windows-phone-isn-t-really-collapsing-new-data-shows-501371.shtml Quote:New comScore data comparing January 2016 market share figures with those in October 2015 reveal that Windows Phone has the exact share of smartphone subscribers, remaining very close to the 3 percent threshold that seems to define the platform these days. RE: Windows Phone Holding Steady - SickBeast - 03-07-2016 Hey Steel, I just want to take the opportunity to thank you for all the links you have been adding to the forum. I have found several of them very interesting. As for this one, I think Windows Phone is dead. I don't think there's room for another smartphone OS. Even Blackberry has ditched their proprietary system for Android. RE: Windows Phone Holding Steady - SteelCrysis - 03-07-2016 You're welcome. I myself don't see Windows Phone expanding.
RE: Windows Phone Holding Steady - happy medium - 03-24-2016 As a proud owner of a Lumia 1520 with windows 10, I must say its a great phone with a great operating system. I've tried the Samsung S6 edge, Samsung Note 4 , and the IPhone 6 and my phone is every bit as good and over 2 years old. It just needs some bank apps, it has most others I would commonly use. With the release of the new Surface Phones in a few months, the way these phones integrate with your desktop, laptop, and tablets, I fully expect windows Phones to take off. If they had an app library and good phone I'd be all over a Windows phone. Not like I want to know multiple OSs. Does it allow for back/forward navigation with finger swiping?!? After I upgraded my 17" touchscreen laptop to Win10, I figured that the browsers no longer allowed for back/forward touch swiping on either the touchscreen or the touchpad (no matter what settings I used in the Synaptic drivers or Windows control panel)... I couldn't stand Windows 8, but the metro-style IE supported browser swipe navigation with just 1 finger rather than 3 fingers like the Asus touchpad drivers (no longer supported in Win10 as well)!?? It's a hassle having to touch/click on the tiny back button (or press Alt + Left/Right ). WTF is M$ thinking, removing this Windows 8 function?!? Is M$ deliberately trying to stay behind Android and IOS?! Just tried it and it doesent! It did with 8.1. I hope they bring it back with a update. I'm usually the type of guy that says "if it isn't broke leave it alone" but my tablet, desktop and laptop were windows 10 so I just did the upgrade for my phone. |
