EVGA Overselling Their X99 FTW K Motherboard - SteelCrysis - 05-18-2016 http://www.tomshardware.com/news/evga-x99-ftw-k-motherboard-overclocking,31817.html Why are they doing this? RE: EVGA Overselling Their X99 FTW K Motherboard - SickBeast - 05-18-2016 My Gigabyte motherboard only has 4 power phases for the CPU and it's marketed as a gaming and overclocking board. It has 4 high quality fully digital phases though. My board scored better overclocking results than other boards with 8 or even 12 phases. So the number of power phases is not everything. I think instead of looking at the motherboard superficially, Tom's should review the board and see how well it overclocks. While I do see their point, I don't think the criticism is fair at this point without fully testing the board first. RE: EVGA Overselling Their X99 FTW K Motherboard - SteelCrysis - 05-18-2016 Oh, the motherboard also has a bodge on it: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/evga-announces-the-x99-ftw-k-motherboard.222554/#post-3460139 |
