Carrizo Review - SteelCrysis - 07-10-2016 http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/amd-athlon-x4-845-fm2-review,1.html RE: Carrizo Review - ocre - 07-10-2016 This is a joke, right? What has AMD been doing all these years? It's not really better than the old phenom 2 quads, it's actually looks like very similar performance and barely improved efficiency..It's just sad. After all these years. Interesting though.. This article says this cpu and AMD APUs are half the IPC of current Intel cpus. This is interesting, because if this is true, Nvidia is well past their core 2 point, they are actually right up there with an Intel like advantage, in todays performance, well past the core 2 moment RE: Carrizo Review - RolloTheGreat - 07-11-2016 AMD has no cash, and even a company with tons of cash like intel only makes small advances. Did you expect anything else? RE: Carrizo Review - ocre - 07-11-2016 I was really surprised mostly the power consumption. But my bad. I skimmed to fast. It was the 100watt graph that blew me away. Turns out I wasnt looking at it right. That 100watts is the system draw, not the cpu alone.. Thank goodness. So, it's not so utterly pathetic. Anyway, not many reviews out. Without more.to go on, it's not looking too bad. Cant wait till more reviews. But so far, I retract my first comment RE: Carrizo Review - SickBeast - 07-11-2016 This cpu came out in February. There are tons of reviews. RE: Carrizo Review - SteelCrysis - 07-11-2016 Yeah, I think I posted another Carrizo review here a while ago, but I couldn't find it again. So I made this new topic. Wow, those were like the exact words Poppin would've said!
RE: Carrizo Review - SteelCrysis - 07-19-2016 http://www.extremetech.com/computing/231872-carrizo-vs-kaveri-which-low-end-amd-cpu-is-a-better-buy Quote:Bristol Ridge is unlikely to shake up the overall roadmap or Carrizo’s performance very much. While the chip will have some improvements and tweaks (and should support dual-channel memory in laptops) the typical gain for this kind of refresh is in the 3-5% range. Another 5% sure wouldn’t hurt the core’s CPU performance, but Zen’s 40% is what people are going to be watching for. If you’re looking to build an entry-level AMD gaming rig, Kaveri is probably the better option. If, on the other hand, you want a general-purpose system, Carrizo and the X4 845 may be the better core. |
