Best Smartphone - womanstun - 05-27-2017 I am planning to buy a new phone as my iphone battery drains so fast. Have anyone of you tried to use Vivo? How was it? Is worth of its price? How was it? Is worth of its price? My advice with phones is to always buy something one generation old. Phones depreciate faster than anything I have ever seen. I personally bought two LG G5s, one for me and one for my wife. We are both really happy with them. I'm not sure how it works in the USA. Here in Canada it's very hard to find phones for sale off contract. So what I have had to do is sign up with one of the providers here so I can get the phone, and then cancel. It takes a hit on my credit score and it's a total pain, however my other options are not as good and I would wind up with an inferior phone. iPhones are really nice but I find them overpriced. Also I find the screen on the regular iPhones is too small, and then if you get the "plus" the phone is absolutely huge. The G5 is a lot smaller in the hand compared to the "plus", and it has a similar screen size (5.3" vs 5.5"). My vote is for the G5 if you can get a good deal on one. I expect the G6 to come down in price by around Black Friday. I hope that helps! Good luck! RE: Best Smartphone - BenSkywalker - 05-28-2017 Vivo uses MediaTek SoCs which I'm not a fan of, their reputation for software isn't the greatest either. By default we assume you are in the US, only about half of us actually are, but any advice will likely be given with that as the assumed place. What exactly is your budget? Vivos are pretty cheap, but who do you use as a carrier and what type of billing are you looking for? I'm a big fan of buying phones unlocked and then just using StraightTalk- $45 a month for unlimited everything(full LTE speeds on the first 5GB, but never any over charges). The Vivo V5 can be had for around $199, the G5 that SickBeast mentioned can be had unlocked for $299- https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=lg+g5 IMO a much better phone, better SoC, better software, just plain better all around. Now, if you are coming from an iPhone and are used to premium pricing and don't mind it the Pixel is absolutely fantastic and the S8 isn't too shabby either(S8's software still lags behind the Pixel, camera isn't quite there either but to be fair it is the second best cell camera I've seen). Depending on your carrier and contract situation, these may be viable options. If you give us more details, we can get a lot more specific and offer advice more tailored to your wants and needs
RE: Best Smartphone - womanstun - 05-29-2017 I guess I would have to agree with @sickbeast, manufacturers launch a new one every year. Thanks for the tips and suggestion guys, I really appreciate it.
