It's not a bad deal at all to live in my world GStan. Most of the people on the planet are "average battlers", but because I graduated from American Universities twice, and then learned a tech trade, I get to live a pretty nice lifestyle.

I have to put up with some slackers that like to pretend they're intellectuals while half understanding the materials they cite and using logical fallacies in their arguments, but I don't mind.

Hey ,my Hisense TV is the best purchase I made Christmas 2014, 258$ for a 40 inch TV, that's not bad at all and, I game and watch Movies on it.

I really think its a good TV for the money, and easily good enough for the bedroom.

Err...I posted some links to reviews of HiSense that told me all I need to know about them. When you've got a company putting out tvs that get reviewed "Cheap crap is cheap" doesn't exactly make me want to run to the store running "take my money".

And look at the 3 guys that "think I am full of shit":

I have no doubt HiSense is a good deal for the money, but I look at them kind of like Taco Bell. Yes, it's amazing they can sell prepared food for a nickel, but do I want to eat food that costs a nickel?

Yep.  32 of of 51 reviews scored the TV 3 points or higher (passing grade).  26 out of 51 (just over half of all reviews) gave it the top rating of 5 points.

Only 16 people in total rated the TV below 3 points and only 20 people in total thought the TV deserved a score of 3 or less (3 being the pass mark).

A majority of the reviews (63.5%) would recommend the TV to a friend.

Hisense told one customer there was a bad batch of TV's.  Other customers had dented boxes, still other customers were just plain clueless.

Walmart should have been aware of the bad batch and not been selling them.  Walmart should have handled the boxes better.  And some people are just plain dumb.

If you are unfortunate enough to get a faulty TV (or anything else) you just return it for a replacement.  The occasional dud is part and parcel of mass manufacturing.

Not so much for Samsung I notice.

Simple fact of the matter is Samsung has churned out millions of faulty TV's.  Bad batches of TV's are not something unique to Hisense.

Will a Hisense outperform a top of the line name brand TV?  Most likely not (but you would be shocked by how close it gets).  Not many people purchase top of the line name brand TV's though, they purchase the mid-range and budget versions of that TV.  Will the Hisense outperform the Budget and mid-range versions of the name brand TV?  Most likely it will, and not only that it will offer more in the way of inputs and features to boot, all while costing less.

In 46"-52" TVs, the two HiSense models rank 26/33 and 29/33.

In the 55" - 59" TVs, the HiSense they reviewed is 21/25.

More like "NoSense", they're just not good TVs and they are not "close to high end TVs". On both lists other cheaper TVs ranked better.

Rollo, like you I have had some nice TVs in my living room, right now I have a 70 inch Vizio.

I still have my 40 inch Sony 1080i CRT in the basement that my brothers kids now use. A 3000$ kids TV, all 375 lbs. of it. Still works great. I'm thinking of making a huge MAME machine with it.

I like name brand stuff, I have money for name brand stuff, but I was in the Best Buy, took a look at the picture of the 40 inch Hisense T.V. with a 1080p video playing and said for 250 bucks that's a nice freaking picture. The one thing its lacking is good sound but I have speakers for that.

I will go look at a TV because of good reviews, but I will buy a TV because what I see in person, and the specs it has.

With my experience with my bedroom Hisense TV you might ask ,"would I buy one for my living room?"
