A while back Apoppin, EIC at ABT (now at BTR) banned me for posting that he should work for a living instead of sponging Obamacare off of tax payers.
He said that was "too controversial for ABT in it's "critical growth phase".

Last I checked, the above is "slightly" more controversial than "able bodied people like Apoppin should earn their own keep". Although who knows? Maybe Apoppin agrees with the above and doesn't think it controversial at all.
My guess is Happy could post that he's planning an ethnic cleansing of France and Apoppin wouldn't care because he's what Apoppin needs most- a poster that isn't GStan or SB.
I bet if his NVIDIA overlords saw that kind of controversial stuff on BTR all funding would mysteriously dry up, because big corps aren't very enthused about their reps embracing the bias.

I have to rather sheepishly admit that I knew little to nothing about Lincoln and Kennedy when Happy Medium posted that. I did some reading about Lincoln the other night and from what I gather he was shot for abolishing slavery. So clearly what Happy Medium said was a veiled shot at the blacks, which is absolutely disgusting. I have found him to be repeatedly racist in the past and I have called him out for it. That being said, Rollo, you were banned for your own reason and it's not what you say. Also I still don't understand what he was saying about Kennedy. I know little to nothing about him.

Kennedy was slowly moving his way towards the black civil rights movement. Lincoln was indeed shot for abolishing slavery, and more. In his final speech, on April 11, 1865, Lincoln advocated giving the right to vote to intelligent black men, and black men who had served in the Union army. According to a later account by a Lincoln assassination conspirator, John Wilkes Booth was in the audience and got super pissed. He turned and said "That means ****** citizenship. Now by God, I'll put him through! That is the last speech he will ever make!" He fulfilled that vow 3 days later.

I hear you. Happy's "Yeaargh the Emancipation Proclamation has doomed us all post" probably does set off some NSA warning bells.
IIRC he lives in Baltimore (riots) and lost a bunch of money on real estate when neighborhoods went downhill. (and is bitter about it)
It does make my point though: Happy can post something that would be considered controversial by most of the country and Poppin just good naturedly disagrees. If I suggest Poppin should have to work for the stuff the rest of us work for, I must be banned for the good of the forum.

Rollo, I have to tell you, you need to let this go with apoppin. I have some advice for you. Don't talk down on people because of their level of education. Some of the most successful people I know have only completed high school, if that. Bill Gates himself dropped out of university. There is such thing as an educated idiot, believe it or not. You should carry yourself with more class and dignity. Education isn't everything. It's important, however do you really think it's helpful to make someone feel bad because they aren't as educated as you are? In particular in a country like the United States where higher education is prohibitively expensive. There are people in my own family who didn't even finish elementary school because they had no other choice; they had to help provide for the family at a young age. This is not something I would ever hold against them. Not only that but they were very successful and they raised a beautiful family.
It's not just that. You shouldn't flaunt how much money you have. You seem to love going on and on about how educated you are and how much cash you have. It's really not conducive to any type of healthy dialogue.
apoppin is a really good guy. You need to let this go. It's not worth it. And please consider what I have just said to you. It will go a long way for you.

Some more about John Wilkes Booth:
Booth was a relatively racist, Confederacy-loving scumbag. He had been plotting for some time to have Lincoln kidnapped, but after his attempt failed, switched to killing Lincoln instead. He was already intending to kill Lincoln when Lincoln made his last speech on April 11, 1865.
