Minecraft Creator Markus Persson Not Happy Being A Billionaire

In a series of melancholy tweets early this morning, Persson complained about how his life has become lonely and kind of empty since he closed the deal to sell his company. In a bit of a warning to all those striving to become billionaires like him, he says he’s “never felt more isolated” than while hanging out in Ibiza with friends and partying with famous people.

Hard to feel sorry for him? Maybe. He wouldn’t be the first billionaire to wonder out loud about the philosophical implications of sudden wealth and how it can strain old friendships and make romantic relationships more complicated. But it’s also not hard to imagine how longtime friends might be put off by other obvious changes.

The link has his tweets at the bottom (about 6 of them or so) - the one about his ex-girlfriend is really sad.   :(

What he should just do is give away 90% of his wealth if he can't be happy with being a billionaire, and end up like Pied Piper, who was happier after giving away 99%, enjoying a more bountiful and merry life than he could've ever imagined! 

Giving to charities are BS.  It's usually for selfish tax-deductible reasons, and does not truly make one feel glad, as most charity organizations are corrupt to a degree (even if only slightly) and not that personally rewarding, with rewards so far out of sight, like the cure for breastcancer.  What would truly work is handing out chunks of $100 bills to hard-working families with children - with a disguise so that they do not know who you are.  Just be the man wearing the Santa Claus hat. 

Unhappily rich but yet still so cluelessly greedy?  Oh please.  He just needs to go and buy a car for somebody rather than locking himself in a bedroom-sized bathroom wiping his hide with $20 bills.  

It's lonely living at top of the Beverly Hills in the most expensive mansion in the whole area.

MineCraft already made him unimaginable wealth before he sold it. There was already a huge brand, not counting the game sales. Minecraft shirts, toys,shoes, lunch boxes, underwears ......you freaking name it

But it's very recent. It was only like 2-3 years ago when Minecraft came out on Xbox360 and PS3. That was when he became a millionaire. Then the toys really started coming out last year at the Walmart and Target stores, and finally the Minecraft Legos came out last Xmas. Sure, he was already very rich before M$ bought out Minecraft, but wealth was still new for him, and he just kept on launching into the stratosphere too far from Earth.

Of course, he was tempted to reach the peak - but it ain't what he thought it would be. Too cold, too harsh for comfortable living conditions.

Hollywood actors and rock stars have it worse - many of them say that it's like as if the world suddenly transformed from a zombie apocalypse, and now everybody on the streets literally wants a piece of your flesh (they would actually grab your arm and pull your ear off in a crowd frenzy if you ever dare get in middle of one).

LOL, yeah, and imagine how a billionaire feels like walking down the street, afraid somebody would just follow him to his own house and kidnap him there, holding him hostage until he gives away $millions to the kidnapper.
