Just remember Rollo - only the shareholders matter!  Business should think of nothing else!  or as an arsehole former boss of mine once put it "everyone is expendable, except me".

Technically what you say is what I believe, that a company exists to make profit for the owners. (because anything else leads to no companies to work at as business is not a charity)

That doesn't mean I want to see anyone unemployed, and for that matter, you have no idea if Dave's situation is related to some sort of corporate chicanery.

Actually GStan, I technically have 4 ISPs I "could" post from. I have my main cable modem, my cell phone data plan, my vehicle data plan, and my work.

Not to mention I have enough cash to pay for more ISPs and I could buy proxy services.

It's not like you have to give them a fingerprint to sign up on forums.

You may wish for more ISP's soon if you have to sneak onto forums through proxies.  it's pretty trivial to trace IP addresses to geographical locations and forum mods can do that with the info the forum gives them.

So, you are already ponying up more than honest ordinary people who don't shill others do to access forums and if you want ABT to continue on you'll have pony up even more!

I work in one city, I have homes in two other cities. I travel around to many cities and have two cell ISPs ensure good connection wherever I go.

GStan, I have not been associated with NVIDIA, or anyone else, for over four years. I'm just a guy posting on forums these days. I don't register as "Rollo" or anything like it.

I don't have to "think about" why I was banned, mods and admins straight out told me it was due to pressure from ATi/AMD, and their shills/fanboys reporting all my posts and demanding my removal.

In other words, it was just business. Which I get. If Ford was giving me free trucks and I was on the RAM and Chevy forums telling people how great Ford is, the people who get free RAM and Chevy trucks, and Chrysler and Chevy, and the fans of RAM and Chevy, would be clamoring for my removal and probably get it.

Most of the forums told me I didn't violate TOS, some even apologized. I wasn't getting banned from forums before my association with NVIDIA, and I haven't been since. Gee what a puzzler, what can this mean?

BTR might be the ONLY forum on the planet I can't post on these days, Apoppin would probably ban everyone from my part of the world just to keep from hearing the truth from me. Not to mention with you and SB the only people who regularly post there any new registrations stick out like a sore thumb.

I'll keep posting on the gun/boat/fishing forums I post on, keep mainly lurking and sometimes posting on tech forums, and watch ABT fade into the past.

I have a fulltime job, a teenager I'm raising, two houses to maintain, and my other hobbies. (and I have no experience doing this, I'd have to learn it from ground zero)

I said I'd kick in $20-$30 a year for hosting fees, that's not "nothing". I saw on Apoppin's site that he was paying $50 a year if he paid up front, and that you can get $120/year anywhere. So far Dave hasn't even said he'd let us help, could be he wants to let it die?

I don't know, but I would rather it stay up as well.

Not because it's the only place I can post, but because I like this forum when people are posting on it.

Buddy, my household puts tens of thousands back into the country in taxes, I buy stuff all the time to keep money flowing, I'm going to pay for my kid's college and my own retirement. Beyond that I've been faithful to my wife for over twenty years, do stuff with my son every week, break no laws. I don't smoke, drink, use drugs, or gamble, and mind my own business. I took the trouble to pick up two bachelors degrees and have worked steady since.
