That's the best deal I've seen yet for a GTX 1080.

The SC is a FE with the better cooler, the FTW has the 10+2 phase power board. I'm more conscious of board quality these days. I was seeing blower cards on Ebay from newegg for $520 when I was buying.

Just checked and the 1080FTW locks on 2000MHz at 62C max during long sessions of shooter gaming. I was playing Serious Sam HD at 3440 X 1440, 8XAA at above easy level of difficulty to get a lot going on in the screen. Not exactly Furmark, but not Minecraft either.
I don't think the SC with it's 5/1 power phases would hold boost that well. (although it does have the same cooler) I figure that holding boost at 2000 probably gets me 1/3 of the way to Titan XP performance, so if 1080 Ti is less than that, price will determine if I jump. Can't Step Up to the cards with heavy duty power phases. (and the 1080 is a very good 21:9 card anyway) |
