I'm wondering if the Galaxy S7 is actually nearly as powerful as the PS3. That is, within about 60% of PS3's graphical processing power?
If the display were at 720p (or at least forced to render at 720p), certainly, games could look basically just as good, with optimal programming. Unfortunately, devs aren't going to max-out their game graphics just for the S7 when considering universal compatibility with all other Android phones/tablets that came out in the last few years.
I hope NV really works hard with the devs to create a successful niche market for this (for next-gen Shield, at least, and a serious 4K console with upgradeable Pascal modules), that would surge into a massively popular commodity. Nvidia can do it!! JHH should have a pair of decent bowling balls!
