I still don't understand the use of the N-word.  That's a racist and derogatory term and it has no place in anyone's vocabulary IMO.

That's funny a few kids were outside playing with some music playing and I heard "nigger" like 20 times in a single song.

It seems its alright for our children to sing along and say the word nigger out loud in public and their parent singing along with them, it doesn't seem to derogatory to them?

In Canada we don't seem to have the same race problems that you guys have in the USA, particularly in the deep south. Yes we have our problems here but we are a very diverse society and we celebrate that. I just ate Sri Lankan take out last week, it was absolutely delicious. You should see the diversity of the food where I live, it's incredible. I'm not saying that it's perfect, just that it's better than what you guys are dealing with. There is deep rooted racism in the southern US. Things are getting better down there too now though. Really though hearing those N bombs just breaks my heart. I find it hard to believe people hate each other based on the colour of their skin. Do you hate dogs with black fur as well? It's no different. If you can see how ludicrous it is to hate black dogs then you should see how stupid you look when you drop N bombs and act racist.

Also, I wish to point out that the north has racism, although different and not as severe. Northern racism in the past was based on xenophobia and resource competition, while Southern racism in the past was based on pure race. Hey Happy Medium, I get you..  you're just speaking in generic terms, just as a black person would call another black person a nigger..  no biggie.  No racism or judgment there...  especially since you're not white yourself.  By Indian, you mean Indian and not Native American, right?  I'm a bit Native American myself..  generally half white, and half Arab (not just Arab, but a bit Berber from my Dad's side).  As to "white" (from my Mother's side), 1/4 Irish, 1/8 Scottish, 1/8 Native American.  I have curly hair, with few black strands - mostly brown, but my beard is RED with purplish tint on the sides - moustache is a bit blonde, so I'm quite a mutt!  I might look a bit like an Arab but not even my Dad was ever a Muslim...   actually, I feel more like a Native American (like my Grandfather who looked and acted purely like one) than an Arab.  

Here in DC metro area, racism isn't so bad although the entire metro area of over 5 million people is quite segregated with most of the East composed of African Americans and most of the West composed of other races, with the barely-majority being white.  

Then Baltimore is even more segregated in certain spots, along with Philly and NYC.

It's extremely interesting to note that Providence, Rhode Island (a metro area of roughly 1 million people) has no defined segregation, yet has highest locally-demographically proportional usage of the word "nigger" in Google search results out of all cities of the USA.  You can find an ethnic map of Providence in the above link.  It's rather interesting, nonetheless.

As to pitbulls - damn, it's not just niggas that have them - it's whiggers as well, along with any white trash - especially drug dealers, as far south as the tip of Florida.  White drug dealers love pitbulls as well - they're cheap as dirt, and more aggressive than most bulldogs (and easier to maintain as well - Bulldogs are just more expensive). 

A lot of people might think it's tied to the race, when it's actually more closely correlated to income per household in local vicinity.  The lower it is, the more likely there is to be rampant pitbulls and rottweilers, etc.  Mainly, it doesn't have to be in a big city - it could very well be in a town well outside of the urban/suburban area - more like exurban, or even in the country.  Ya know, in New York City - the biggest city of all - one would be hard pressed to find a dog running freely on the street anywhere, ever.  I've visited NYC during 12 lengthy vacations and have yet to see one myself.  A nigga sharing weed with me on a street even in Harlem was far more highly probable, in that respect.       

NYC seems to be happier overall compared to several years ago, seriously...  it's kind of interesting.

You're neglecting the fact that the blacks are heavily targeted by the police via racial profiling. Plus they have been discriminated against for years and years, not that you care seeing as you're doing it yourself. You can say that you're using metaphors or any of that other mumbo jumbo but you come across as a bona fide racist to me and I find it quite disgusting.

I have a lot of sympathy for the black community. They have been hard done by for a very long time. If a group is impoverished of course it means they are going to commit more crimes. A lot of them probably don't even have a choice.
