Looking forward to January and a new year. December was pretty rough. Sunday Dec 16th at 3pm while watching Football games on the couch got an alert call from Chase. The Rep asked if I just made a purchase in Orlando Florida. Obviously not, I then logged online and found a flurry of unauthorized charges. These charges we both to my personal account and the Alienbabeltech account. I've kept every penny in the account since the web host crash years ago. Chase closed the accounts and I had no access to any funds until yesterday. They would not re-open the Alienbabeltech account as the state closed the LLC due to inactivity on Dec 5th. Did not know this until trying to re-open a new account.
I still keep the site up as I am paying for a web host anyway. The web host recently changed to SSD drives so hopefully no more crashes but after the last crash they were able to restore what was thought to be lost original word press files. I am not able to log into it as there is no administrator page to be found so it it just an archive of what once was.
The bank could have handled the situation better. I had no issues for at least 10 years but when this happened found out they do not have any call centers or support in the United States. We spent 5 days straight at the bank for at least 3 hours a day while the local bank rep got bounced from country to country call centers such as England, Philippines, India etc. They claim I was hacked, I do not agree. After a new account was opened on Tuesday at noon at the bank they claim a caller called the bank 8 hours later with the new username and password. My laptop was not even powered up and I did not log in with my phone. I told them unless there is a chip in my head the only way that could of happened is within the bank system itself. Of course they said I wouldn't be the only one. I am sure I am not the only one this happened to. They even said this time of year they get a high volume of identity fraud. I think it they have issues in their own system.
The FBI and FTC was notified. I have not heard from them yet but hopefully they can find the source of the issue.
