It can be worse in the modern console ports that try to load a lot of stuff in vram. But most of the time, we dont see big results just going from 2gb to 4gb on the same exact card.

probably not gonna see a major difference in many games, especially older games. It still seems overblown for the most part. The chip itself is just all that powerful to need all that ram.
