if the 390x uses almost as much power as a 295 x2 by itself, it is completely not practical.
The 390x will use about 140% the power of a 290x. Give or take.
So, two of them will be similar to the power requirements of three 290x chips on one PCB. How many power connectors would you need for such a chip. So you really think AMD will design a single slot card with such a massive tdp? At the very best case, its gonna be like a titan z plus a gtx 780ti all on one chip.
I really have my doubts. Its really pushing the edge....
