I don't even subscribe to cable TV (except for the local channels and HBO as part of the Verizon 50/50 FIOS package). We have Netflix, Hulu, and are thinking of Sling.TV ($20/month). We get discrete 5.1 sound on many TV shows and movies at good 1080 quality from Netflix, on our PS3. No commercials.
Hulu has a no commercials plan for $11.99 (about $3-4 more) per month, but the commercials aren't as long as on standard cable tv.
Cable TV sucks balls! I'd rather be able to watch any TV show whenever I want, on the fly. No need for DVR recording. Traditional cable TV really needs to die.
