In fact I read another rumor that said that the NX will come out this year along with a new Zelda game for both the Wii U and the NX.
Sony ended up the "last man standing" in an obsolete technology.
Can you imagine going back playing your music on CDs? Same thing applies. Why would anyone want to dick around with buying physical media, or worse yet, renting it when content is streamed from where you're sitting these days?
There will always be people like BoFox notes saying "You can't get a 4k HDR 3d image streamed! You have to spend the $400 on a player, and $30 a disk, and sit close to the more expensive tv, and wear your 3d glasses!" but will that segment be enough to keep Sony going?
It's sort of like when I was saying "Buy three 3d monitors and game in 3d surround like me!". Sure it was better, but the market didn't care.
4k BluRay is DOA, there will be no significant shift to it. I bet most people will be like me and think, "I wasn't getting BluRays and I've had that "better tech" for years..."
