Yep...  but not for a while - the panel of directors behind HDMI likes to take things slow..  

I actually would love for HDMI 3.0 to come out ASAP, allowing for 4K @ 120+Hz..    4K sure is nice, but 60Hz is a thing of the past. 

A universal standard of Freesync (like Gsync) should be ubiquitous - especially with the efficiency of only updating a frame with a new one, without wasted intervals of distorted screen tearing.
