Well I will tell you that the naysayers about 4k are completely wrong. The difference in sharpness and clarity is profound, even sitting 8' away from a 55" screen. It's a night-and-day difference when reading text and using the computer. When watching videos the difference is not as pronounced, but it is still a major improvement. I don't know who came up with those viewing distance charts but they must have pretty bad eyesight.
