Pretty interesting article. Of course, the average WD enterprise hard drive capacity increasing by 35% compensates for the 12.5% reduction in WD's enterprise hard drive sales.

I need a new hard drive but I'm annoyed at the fact that the $/GB is the same as when I bought my current drives several years ago. These companies keep making excuses, yet the fact is that there has been little to no progress in terms of hard drive capacity and price over the past several years. It has reached the point that you can get a 1tb SSD for around $200 which is starting to approach the price of HDDs, only they are way faster and more reliable.
