AMD Radeon 6850 Performance Test

The trend I’ve discovered of new GPUs showing bigger performance gains in older games with cranked settings continues here, with the 6850 being 43.73% faster than the 5770 in this set of tests.

There are very large performance gains in Painkiller and Fear; the 6850 comes close to the GTX470 in the former while outrunning it in the latter.

The 6850 also performs exceptionally well in the OpenGL titles Doom 3 and Prey, beating the GTX470 in both games. In Doom 3 the 6850 absolutely thrashes the GTX470 and the 5770 is faster too, so this is some great performance from AMD here.
