When idling, the Freezer 13 was able to keep the CPU a full 3°C lower than the Intel stock which was only able to manage 30°C. The Freezer 7 Pro fell in between at 29°C.

The first load test, CPU: OCCT, is where we see the first instance of the aftermarket coolers pulling away from the competition. The Freezer 13 managed to keep the CPU to maximum of 42°C. That is just 1°C cooler that its older brother and 5°C cooler than the Intel stock cooler which managed 47°C.

The second load test, CPU: Linpack, kept more or less the same trend except that the Freezer 7 Pro was able to match the Freezer 13 at 50°C, while the Intel stock cooler fell further behind, increasing the temperature by 6°C to a maximum of 56°C. The stock Intel cooler gets taught a lesson in cooling overclocked CPUs and begins to fail at its job, only managing a warm 63°C.

The second load test, CPU: Linpack, poses an interesting scenario. Aside from the Intel cooler being totally out of the contest at 84°C (way to hot for consistent usage); the Freezer 13 is finally able to best the Freezer 7 Pro by more than 1°C.

An overclocked Core 2 Duo CPU being kept at under 70°C under the stress of the Linpack test is admirable by any stretch and clearly shows that if you want any meaningful speed boost, an aftermarket cooler is a necessity.

As mentioned before, the Linpack test puts much more pressure on your system than regular daily use (including gaming) and serves to show how these coolers will perform under maximum strain.

Conclusion

If the aim is to get more performance from your CPU by overclocking, then you should be interested in this awesome mid-priced CPU cooler.
