Written by: Leon Hyman<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Introduction<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n PC Gaming in 2008 saw many great titles and many wonderful moments in gaming.<\/p>\n Alien Babel Tech is giving out awards to the various titles that really made their mark in 2008 and they stand above the rest in different respects. We have separated the awards into two sections.<\/p>\n There are Honours for Best Graphics, Best Audio, Best Art Design, Best Expansion, Best Single Player and Best Multiplayer Game.<\/p>\n There are Genre Awards for Best Action, Best Adventure, Best Strategy, Best Platform, Best Driving, Best Role Playing Game and Best Shooter.<\/p>\n Then of course the title of Game of the Year 2008<\/strong>. So let\u2019s get started with the Honours.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Best Graphics Crysis Warhead<\/em> is the hands-down winner in this category. There was never any doubt seeing as though it runs on the same engine as its award winning predecessor\u2026Crysis<\/em>. Warhead<\/em> seemed to be tweaked a little better and proved to be slightly easier on the hardware, making it a bit easier to run. It provided the visuals that players of the original were familiar with and had no problem claiming this award.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Runners-up<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Best Audio<\/span> With its dynamic music and virtually perfect replication of environmental, mechanical and weapon sounds, Far Cry 2<\/em> has earned the award for Best Audio. The voice acting seemed a bit fast as if they were rushing the storyline but that can be forgiven because a lot of people do not like long cutscenes anyway. Even so, the audio was still very well done.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Runners-up<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Best Art Design<\/span> Spore<\/em> brought something totally new to the table and it was well received. It was the ability to create your own species and evolve it any way you want, along with the integrated creature creator made Spore<\/em> an easy choice for ABT’s Best Art Design award. Such games will still qualify for this category but only taking into account the single player campaign.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Fallout 3<\/em> stood head and shoulders above many other titles in the single player category. This might be because it was designed as<\/em> a single player game, with no multiplayer. Other titles focused a great deal of effort on their multiplayer component while still still only managing to deliver a decent single player experience. Teamwork in Left 4 Dead<\/em> becomes more essential as you progress through the game. For quite some time there has not been a game with such a strong co-operative mode of play. You can<\/em> however play this game somewhat laid back between missions but if action is your thing, then GTA4 is a great game for you. You can wreak havoc at any time and place as you see fit.
