{"id":38634,"date":"2013-10-07T19:52:53","date_gmt":"2013-10-07T18:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/?p=38634"},"modified":"2013-10-07T19:52:53","modified_gmt":"2013-10-07T18:52:53","slug":"nvidia-drops-pricing-gtx-650660-ahead-amds-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/alienbabeltech.com\/main\/nvidia-drops-pricing-gtx-650660-ahead-amds-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"Nvidia Drops pricing on GTX 650\/660 ahead of AMD&#8217;s launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia has just announced price drops on some of their mid-range 600 series card in anticipation of the new cards arriving shortly from AMD.\u00a0 The new pricing has already taken place at most of the etailers.\u00a0 Here are the new prices after adjustment:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 1GB: <strong>$129<\/strong><br \/>\nGeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB: <strong>$149<\/strong><br \/>\nGeForce GTX 660: <strong>$179<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A number of cards from AMD&#8217;s new line-up are re-badges of existing HD 7000 series GPUs, which will allow Nvidia to adjust the pricing of their existing cards to strategically compete on price-to-performance, especially after the performance reviews of the new cards are released.\u00a0 AMD has introduced the R9 290X as their flagship which will be taking on Nvidia\u2019s GTX Titan and GTX 780. The new videocard was launched in Hawaii, together with the R9 280X, the R9 270X, the R7 260X and the R7 250.<\/p>\n<p>After the R9 290X and possibly a R9 290, the next card in the lineup is the R9 280X which will have 3GB of vRAM and should cost $299. The 280X is most likely a rebranded\/reworked HD 7970 GHz Edition.
