Today Google announced the latest beta version of its Chrome browser. This update provides speed and stability increases to the already very zippy browser. It adds new features like form autofill<\/a>, full page zoom<\/a> and autoscroll<\/a> (both thanks to a new version of WebKit), and a cool new way to drag tabs<\/a> out to get a side-by-side view (shown below).<\/span><\/p>\n

Google said, “The best thing about this new beta is speed \u2014 it’s 25% faster on our V8 benchmark and 35% faster on the Sunspider benchmark than the current stable channel version and almost twice as fast when compared to our original beta version.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To be on the Chrome cutting edge even more and try-out the newest feature you can get the developer updates by subscribing to the developer channel which contains the newest features for Google Chrome which are not published to the beta channel because they may not be stable yet.<\/p>\n

To subscribe to developer channel<\/p>\n

  1. Download and run the\u00a0Google Chrome Channel Changer<\/a> (http:\/\/chromium.googlecode.com\/files\/chromechannel-2.0.exe<\/a>).<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Click the circle next to the channel you want to get updates from.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Click Update to save your choice.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Click Close.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. In Google Chrome, click the wrench menu and choose About Google Chrome.<\/span><\/strong>\n

  6. Click Update Now to install the current channel’s release.
