That is because the number 8 is considered lucky in China. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wdc.com\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/www.wdc.com', 'Western Digital']);\" target=\"_blank\">Western Digital<\/a>(WD) is looking to capitalize with the slogan of \u201cAll the Way Lucky with 8?. This model forms a part of WD\u2019s Caviar Green\u2019s series which sacrifice performance to provide lower power usage and noise. Good news is that this drive uses 500GB platters. WD8088AADS causes 3.9W power consumption at idle use and 7.4W under load and features SATA interface and delivers speed of 3.0Gb\/s.
