Micron will have to compete with established competitors such as <\/font><a href=\"www.samsung.com\" target=\"_blank\"><font face=\"Calibri\">Samsung<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Calibri\"> and <\/font><a href=\"www.hynix.com\" target=\"_blank\"><font face=\"Calibri\">Hynix<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Calibri\">. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Calibri\">&quot;Our upcoming 50-nanometer technology is very competitive when it comes to power consumption and performance,&quot; said Robert Feurle, Micron&#8217;s VP of DRAM marketing. &quot;I think it&#8217;s a good point in time to begin discussions with big enablers <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/nvidia.com\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/nvidia.com', 'Nvidia']);\" target=\"_blank\"><font face=\"Calibri\">Nvidia<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Calibri\"> and <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/amd.com\" onclick=\"_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'outbound-article', 'http:\/\/amd.com', 'AMD']);\" target=\"_blank\"><font face=\"Calibri\">AMD<\/font><\/a><font face=\"Calibri\"> and get started with some design-ins,&quot; Feurle said.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Calibri\">Micron plans to target \u201cupper mid-range\u201d graphics card segment starting off with 1600 MHz Double Date Rate 3 (DDR3) memory. This is the same type of the memory which is referred to as RAM and is the main memory of PCs.
