In this article I will be introducing you to some of the benchmarks that I have selected for future storage reviews. I will be using some of the industry leading software such as Lavalys\u2019 Everest, SiSoftware\u2019s SANDRA, HDTach and a few more. These are synthetic benchmarks and don&#8217;t always provide an accurate indication of how the drives would perform when working with real world files. Therefore I will be creating some of my own tests to mimic some of the commonly performed real world tasks. These include copying files, game level load and muxing (joining) of video files.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #80ffff;\">If you would like to suggest more tests for us to use, we would be happy to consider them. They are one of the most respected manufacturers with some exciting products in their lineup. Then I copy that game folder to another folder on the same drive using Microsoft\u2019s Robocopy GUI and output the time taken to copy the game folder on the same drive. This benchmark will test both the read and write speeds of the drive at the same time. I choose <em>Crysis Warhead<\/em> for this purpose as this game has a lot of files of various sizes. This should test the hard disk transfer speeds across vast sizes of files and mimic a real world scenario.<\/p>\n<p>The game was patched with the 1.1 and 1.1 hotfix patch which introduces the 64-bit executable.
