Seriously- this guy is so fucking stupid it's painful.

First- record the video in Rec2020 color space for the love of gawd- seriously- what kind of half wit is the schmuck? I get it, these are utter shit IPS panels, but damn, they can still do a lot better then what you are showing(maybe his camera is utter trash?).

Second- the gamma settings for HDR are dynamic- *BY DESIGN*- this is a very deliberate choice for very, very obvious reasons.

Looked like both monitors were set for 'display'(store, torch) mode- HDR has a different set of parameters for the "torch" mode then that of SDR- EVEN FOR THE SAME FUCKING DISPLAY.

Third- even with all his catastrophic failures at understanding what he was looking at- the tone maps for the SDR images are still utterly crushed, luminance range is insanely confined- I'm honestly shocked it can show nearly as much difference as it does with everything he did wrong- and the HDR image is flat out stupidly superior anyway.

I checked the video on a reference level OLED display- normal IPS and PVA too- the HDR side was *vastly* superior on all of them- none of them were showing the extra color space or luminance range of HDR and it *STILL* looked WAY better.

He likes obscenely washed out gamma with almost no contrast, I get it- there are probably some good grayscale TN panels out there that would be right up his alley. Fuck was this a bad video, heh.

To his allegations, btw- the monitor looked *MUCH* better before he reset it back to factory defaults, I don't think the guy has a fucking clue what a calibrated display is supposed to look like- apparently he likes torch mode with obscene level of over saturation on a way too high gamma setting with colors dialed up to absurd oversaturation levels.
