So I've had this idea stuck in my head forever about doing a proper motorcycle trip from coast to coast, or at least halfway across the country. The thing is, I sold my bike ages ago and haven't been on two wheels since then, just cars and trucks. But lately I can't stop thinking about it and I'm ready to actually do this ride instead of just talking about it. Anyone know where I could rent a decent bike for something like this?

Getting back on a bike after years of driving cars is gonna feel wild at first, the whole balance thing hits different when you're not surrounded by metal. Most traditional rental places won't let you take their bikes across state lines or they charge you insane fees for mileage. You'll need to find somewhere that actually understands long-distance riders and won't freak out when you tell them your route. Read the insurance coverage too because breaking down in the middle of nowhere with sketchy rental protection turns into a mess real quick.
