I've never said the nV3X line was better than the R300 line, because it's not.

What I've always said is that the difference in gaming, at playable settings is not great enough to warrant this ridiculous fanboy monkey spanking over a card that was marginally better.

You guys act like the 9700Pro was the R520 and 5800U was a S3 Virge.
Unlike 99.9999% of you, I had both and can tell you for the most part you couldn't tell the difference with the counter off, except for the tiny hairdryer whine of the FlowFX.

BTW- while you're right that 53 vs 45 at UT2003 is a 17% victory for the 9700Pro, most UT2003 players who like to survive would never play at either?

Not much, if they ever come out I have two fall back plans: 1. My four year old doesn't really care what's in his box, so I could just get the 9800Pro back 2. If I need a card to run a game well, I'll buy it





Maybe today there aren't many dx9 games that make this difference as you say, but what about the next year?

If history is any teacher, whatever is in my box early this year won't be next year. I only tried 3 video cards in my main computer last year, a record low for me. (9700Pro/5800NU/9800Pro)

Here I straight out say I'm looking for the 5800U to try because I won't be using it long and I'll have a 9800Pro anyway, just wanted to try one. (and the guy I'm talking to says there aren't many DX9 games out now, go figure)

Anway, it wasn't a bad card, just not as good as the 9700.

Looks to me like there's only one liar in this thread, named Sick Beast. Still waiting for those quotes where I'm saying the FX5800 Ultra is a better card than the 9800 Pro or 9700 Pro.
