Eh, no one's forcing you to live there.
You can buy a nice house in my area for under $250K, drive 10 minutes to work on roads with no tolls and drive a half hour in any direction and be in the sticks.
That is the typical response by the rich. Once all the worker bees leave what will the rich do? They certainly can't feed themselves or do anything for themselves.
