Anyway, on a serious note to all of us Americans: racism is still strong from American roots - it's only been 40 years since negroes weren't allowed to eat at restaurants that serve white people, or even ride buses with them. Even 10 years after MLK Jr was assassinated, it was still a brutal America for 98% of African Americans (wages being less than half of whites for the same jobs, difficulty of getting hired, denial of access to certain airports like Jacksonville, etc.).

Dude, thirty years ago I had black professors, used to go to clubs and get wrecked with my black friends, and was dating any race that would let me buy them dinner.
These days we have a black president, and I run into black people at all levels of business.
My son says at his school no one really cares about race at all, and in my neighborhood none of us care what race or sexual orientation people are.
I think we've come a LONG way toward the way things are supposed to be.
Racism still exists, and probably always will. (just like sexism, ageism, homophobia, religious discrimination, and Ford vs Chevy) But things have come a long way and better than they were.
Personally I think our real problem is the economy- we have way too many poor people, not enough decent jobs. Poor people without hope sometimes turn to crime, no matter what their race.
