The 5820 is 300$ but its a power hog and those clocks are not as common. I don't think the newer Broadwelll-E or Skylake -E will use the same socket. So its a dead end platform.
The Z170 platform has some nice motherboards and features but the 6700k is more expensive than the 5820k.
It also will see at least one cpu refresh.
