Of course I don't expect NV to diminish their gains to just 5% per year, but heck, it could be half of what we're used to seeing now (or less). But wait a minute, I thought Intel really wanted to sell as many of their CPUs as possible?
What I said above applies here.
EVERY PC needs a CPU, and they're all intel. A small percentage of PCs need NV gaming GPUs, and if they don't bump performance we'll just keep the old ones.
