You can get a house in a city of 300,000 near where I live for $100,000. If you want 10 acres with it, $200,000.

Rich people from around the world flock here in droves and it drives up the cost of housing because the demand badly outstrips the supply. Not only that but my $500,000 house is a great investment that's going to give me a huge nest egg when I retire. I bought it for $400,000 3 years ago. So it's going up at $33,000/year. It's great. I'm not even paying that much into my mortgage each year. My house is going up in value at a rate that's double the interest that I'm paying on the mortgage.
Like I said, the tax rates are comparable and they actually favor people who make under $80,000/year here in Canada which is only fair IMO and it benefits the most people. Most families make under $80,000/year combined. We are fortunate to make significantly more than that.
There is no question that the quality of life is higher here in Canada. You say I'm getting shafted but I'm pretty sure I'm better off than you are with more to show for it. My house is worth over twice as much as yours, just as an example, and I can afford it. You talk about all your cars and boats but I highly doubt they are worth the $280,000 price difference between our houses.
I will admit that overall a lot of goods are cheaper in the US, however in Canada I would say that groceries are cheaper. This is based on my limited travel to the US. I found that when I was in New Orleans the groceries were more expensive than here plus it was all priced in US dollars which made it 30-40% more expensive for us.
Gasoline is cheaper in the US along with some other things. It used to be that electronics were cheaper there but with our dollar dropping the deals are better here now. Just as an example, I recently bought a really nice laptop for $323CAD. apoppin wants to buy one too but they are $350USD in the USA. So your logic is flawed. Really what I would say is that you're clearly very ignorant about my country despite the fact that your state borders on it. I would appreciate it if you would stop posting blatant lies about where I live. If you're going to comment, at least do some research first because what you keep on saying is complete nonsense.
