Gosh, this is not right. We're supposed to support each other - and we're paying them to "protect and serve" with our tax dollars.
They're PUBLIC servants. If they cannot be recorded by the public, are they really public servants, while we get to exercise our liberty and first amendment rights, OR NOT?
Like, the filming of Rodney King would've been illegal??
I'm hoping there's an appeal to overthrow the court decision ASAP.
I think there will be, as there will be one too many un-necessary arrests of citizens videorecording the police on duty - especially as basically every citizen will be carrying a smartphone. Some rich citizens will be real good friends with some of the best lawyers around - some will have the leadership to organize a mass class-action lawsuit.
