Nvidia Pascal GPU has 17 billion transistors

I'm starting to see high end aftermarket gtx980's on fire sale on ebay for under 300$.
I've seen a used Evga gtx980 calssified for 280$.
That's the perfect 1080p card.

I did a little research and it seems a gtx980 @ 1500 mhz will be 90% of a stock gtx980ti.
I've also seen used aftermarket gtx980ti's for about $380, that's not bad either.

I might just wait a bit, and grab a great deal on a Evga card with a transferable warrantee.

Lets see if AMD can impress me with the 480.

You know, all we have see on forums is people bashing the 980 for a long time. It's consistently bashed and has been to the extreme once the 980ti launched. Loads of people would act like somehow anyone who bought a 980 just got ripped off, they were insisting it should be a small in the face.

It never made a lick of sense. The 980ti launched at 150$ more than the 980. It offered 25-30% more performance, yet it was priced higher. There were so many amd trolls claiming that 980 owners just got slapped in the face and they were idiots for buying the 980. Yet, once the ti came out, the 980 did not loose any value at all. It remained in the same price bracket. As a matter of fact, the 980 held its value much longer than that, up until a few months ago, it still had most of its original value. Not only that, the used value for the 980 has been great just the same. And, up until recently, was still selling for around 400 bucks...used!!!

Now here is the kicker---
When fury launched, it was pretty much 980 OC Performance. And not even a highly over clocked 980. Fury x performance was just about reachable with highly OC 980. This is amassing, considering how much the AMD troopers bashed the 980...their fury was not only a similar performance, it was also priced higher than the 980.

Anyone who bought a 980 back when it came out (like me) they had fury performance a year before hand. They had that performance a year early and for less money even. An over clocked 980 has always been 90% of a stock 980ti, it's nothing new.

Yet somehow the AMD troopers twist and skew reality so much, it's a joke
