ASRock Introduces M3A785GM-LE/128M AM3 and and Entry Level P55 Motherboards
ASRock, the mainstream oriented subsidiary of ASUS has recently two motherbased for entry level platforms on AMD and Intel based chipsets.
M3A785GM-LE/128M
Built to micro-ATX specifications, this motherboard is based on AMD’s latest 785G chipset. It uses SB710 for it’s soutbridge. The 785G chipset employs the HD 4200 class DirectX 10.1 compliant integrated graphics processor, using 128 MB of onboard DDR3 memory. The power circuitry on this board is fairly simple using a 4 phase circuit for powering up the CPU and providing support for dual channel DDR3 memory, with support for up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. The expansion slots include one each of PCI-Express 2.0 x16, PCI-E x1, and two PCI slots. The SB710 southbridge provides six internal SATA 3 Gb/s ports. Display connectivity options include DVI-D and D-Sub. 6 channel audio, and gigabit Ethernet make for the rest of the package. Availability and pricing are yet to be known.

This entry level motherboard provides support for Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 “Lynnfield” CPUs and is based on the P55 chipset. Other features include 4+1 phase power circuit for the CPU VRM, four DDR3 memory slots to support up to 16 GB of memorytwo PCI-Express x16 slots and two each of PCI-E x1, and PCI. Two of the chipset’s six SATA 3 Gb/s ports are permanently assigned as eSATA, with four available internally. Gigabit Ethernet and 8-channel HD audio round of the rest of the features.
