ASUS unveils the PB298Q, An Ultrawide 21:9 Panoramic Monitor
Yesterday ASUS officially announced a 29-inch, ultra-wide 21:9, 2560 x 1080 monitor. The PB298Q has the on-screen equivalent space of two 17-inch monitors side-by-side. If features an Advance High Performance In-Plane Switching, for vibrant colors and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Video inputs include DisplayPort,HDMI, Dual-Link DVI, 3-watt speakers.
With an 80,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio and a 300cd/m² brightness rating, the ASUS PB298Q display delivers life-like visuals by adjusting backlight luminance to achieve the darkest black and the brightest white shades. The exclusive ASUS MultiFrame software lets users organize multiple desktop windows, arranging them in an orderly fashion where they don’t overlap.
The PB298Q’s stand features adjustable tilt, swivel and height. The stand also features a pivot joint allowing the display to rotate 90 degrees for portrait or landscape use. The monitor isn’t available in the States yet, although it’s already listed in Australia for $799.99.
